New Ladies Development Team Manager Takes Charge

Sheffield FC Ladies is delighted to announce that Kyle O'Reilly has become the new manager of its development team ahead of the 2017/18 season, the Club's third season in the FA Women's Super League.

The appointment has been made prior to the development team commencing their pre-season preparations, and the Leeds-based coach is looking forward to getting his teeth into the new role.

For the past season, O'Reilly has been joint manager of the ladies first team at Guiseley Vixens, helping them to the FA Women's Premier League Northern Division 1 league title which they won by an impressive 15 point margin.

Prior to that, he spent two seasons at Huddersfield Town LFC where he was in charge of the ladies reserve team, competing in the FA WPL reserve division where he came up against Sheffield FC Ladies reserves managed, at the time, by Zoe Johnson.

Now Sheffield FC Ladies' first team manager, Johnson is delighted that O'Reilly has accepted the offer to join the coaching team at the Club, and is looking forward to working with him closely as the two squads gear up for the new season:

"As soon as we realised Kyle was available, we immediately discussed bringing him to the Club, and approached him about the job. He brings with him good experience of managing in women's game at first team and reserve team level, which we felt was a key criteria."

"The Club has always been about having the right foundations so we can build from there, and we feel Kyle is the right man to help us to continue to achieve that."

"I look forward to working with him and seeing him progress some of our young talented players through to the first team, which I have no doubt he will do."

And the latest member of Sheffield FC Ladies' staff is equally excited about his new challenge: "I'm delighted to be joining the Club," said O'Reilly, "and getting the chance to work with an experienced team of coaches and talented group of players."

"For as long as I've been involved in the women's game, Sheffield FC has been a club that's continued to progress with a great professional culture. I can't wait to get started and do my bit in aiding the Club in its ambitions."
