HUME ANNOUNCES FIRST SIGNINGS:

Sheffield FC First Team Manager Mark Hume has made his first signings of the new campaign today, strengthening the management/coaching team. Joining Mark and Assistant Manager Scott Maxfield are Player/Assistant Manager Lee Morris and Player/Coach Matt Roney

Scott (left) started his career at Doncaster Rovers making his first-team debut at 18 before joining Hull City where he spent three years. Spells back at Doncaster, Barrow & Stalybridge ensued before Scott joined Buxton FC in 2008 spending five seasons with The Bucks, he left his player/manager role at Buxton and joined Bradford PA before spending last season with Handsworth Parramore
Lee Morris is a very well-known and prolific striker who has played for a number of clubs in the Northern Premier League including Buxton, Droylsden, Frickley Athletic, Harrogate Town, North Ferriby and Stalybridge Celtic. Having had recent experience of management at Frickley and Goole, Lee is looking to help Mark and fellow Assistant Manager Scott Maxfield with team selection and preparation and on match –days and will undoubtedly chip in with his fair share of goals as the season unfolds.
Matt Roney needs no introduction to Club fans - Matt joined Sheffield FC in 2005 and has made well over 450 appearances for the Club scoring over 50 goals. We are delighted that our very own Club legend will be staying with us for yet another season and wish him all the best in his new role. Matt’s fitness, work-rate and commitment to the Sheffield FC cause are legendary and an example to all players who seek a career in non-league. 2017—18 is Matt’s testimonial year and further details of events celebrating his achievements with the club will be announced in due course.
Pre-season training starts in just over a weeks time and our first Pre-Season Friendly is a home game against Chesterfield FC on July 4th—kick-off 7.30pm.
