Club Walkers win opening tie
Sheffield FC Walking Football Club travelled to Birmingham on Sunday to play the highly rated Hartshill Strollers in the first round of the National Charity WF Cup for players aged over 60 years.
Club dominated the game with over 70% possession but had to settle for a 1-0 victory with a fine strike from Clive Fairweather.
The second round sees an interesting encounter lined up with Matlock that will take place on Sunday 22 April. Success in that game will take Sheffield FC into the National finals in May where eight regional champions will battle out for the title of overall champions in a round robin tournament.
