First Team vs. Romulus (1 : 1)

Friday, 14 April, 2017 - 19:45
Evo-Stik League First Division South

Sheffield FC battled out a gruelling draw against a Romulus side, writes Stuart James, as they drew 1-1 in treacherous conditions at Coles Lane.

After Club had lost striker Mohammed Hamid inside the first 30 seconds with a twisted knee, they fought hard in the rain to take an early lead, as GREGORY was alert to an awful back-pass, getting there quickest to nip the ball over the keeper.

Romulus for their part pressed forward for much of the game, but were met by some strong resistance, and weren't helped by some dreadful finishing.

They eventually drew level fifteen minutes from the end when Club were harshly penalised for an alleged foul by Damien Magee; Mark Branch put the free kick in, and HAILEY was able to scramble home in the mêlée to share the spoils.
