It was a proud moment for Sheffield FC/Maltby Academy Scholar Aaron Austin on Tuesday evening, having made his Sheffield FC debut versus Chesterfield FC, in a game played in memory of his father Kevin Austin at the Home of Football.

Chesterfield won the game 2-1 with goals from Ify Ofoegbu and Luke Rawson, who also scored before the break, with Mitchell Dunne scoring for Club in the second half.

The main objective of the game was to honour the ex-Spireites defender, and there was a minute's applause before kick-off as supporters paid triubute to Kevin, with all proceeds from the match going to St Luke's Hospice, at the request of Kevin's family.

Our SFC/MA Scholars who were out and about throughout the fixture with their buckets, raising money for such a good cause. In total we raised £900 from the fixture, which is brilliant, The Scholars were a credit to themselves, Sheffield FC and Maltby Academy.
The highlight for the Club and Academy was the appearance on the pitch of Aaron Austin, which was both very good to see and a proud moment for Maltby Academy, Sheffield Club and the family and friends of the youngster.

Credit to everyone involved to make this event happen.
