SFC Kids with bootsFounded in 1857 and verified by FIFA and the FA Sheffield FC is officially the oldest football club in the world. We celebrate our 150th Anniversary year in 2007 with the launch of an exciting appeal to collect and deliver 2007 cleaned up and tied up pairs of used football boots to the children of South Africa. The Appeal is called 'Boots for Africa'

Football helps to build communities, develop social understanding and improve the lives of millions of people around the planet - something we should all share. Our 'Boots For Africa' appeal will help to develop the skills and fitness of aspiring disadvantaged children and provide more children with the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful game.

We're asking you and every football supporter here in England to back our Appeal. Starting right now the target is to collect thousands of pairs of donated boots, astro boots or football trainers by the club's official 150th Anniversary on 24th October 2007.

How can you support SFC's Boots For Africa Appeal?

Getting behind the Appeal couldn¹t be easier. We simply ask you to dig out any unwanted boots, astro boots or football trainers in any size and donate them to Sheffield FC. The Club will then ensure they are shipped to South Africa and distributed to the children.

Individual Donations

African Kids play Football If you just have one or two pairs of boots all you need to do then is give them a very good clean, make sure they are correctly studded and laced, tie them together and pop into the BBC Radio Sheffield Boots For Africa Collection Point at 54 Shoreham Street, Sheffield.

BBC Radio Sheffield will also have a collection facility on their BBC Bus which travels around the region on a weekly basis - just tune in and find out when it will be in your area. All the donated boots will then be regularly collected from Radio Sheffield by SFC and safely stored until the shipments are made to South Africa.

There may also be other collection points for you to drop in your boots in and around Sheffield, listen out for regular updates on The Toby Foster Show on BBC Radio Sheffield or check out www.sheffieldfc.com. Sheffield FC will also accept donations at any Home Game held at The Bright Finance Stadium.

Group Donations

African FootyAlternatively you may be part of a sports club, community organisation or school etc and be able to collect several pairs of unwanted football boots.
That would be great news for the Appeal and therefore we have made it as easy as possible for you.

All you need to do is print out and complete the Boots For Africa Team Player Form (Download by clicking here)  and return it to us. We will then send you posters to help publicise the Appeal and specially designed sacks to put the boots into.

When your sacks are ready to be picked up just call the Hotline Number below and SFC will then arrange transportation.
