Match Report
Sheffield made the trip to meet play off seeking Belper Town on what was a superb playing surface.

Jamie Smith returned to the starting line up, with Stewart Copnell suspended. Steve Hawes also returned , in place of the rested Chris Dolby.

Club it was who got off to a great start in terms of possession, however, Town’s Ross Hannah had the first shot of the game, although it never tested Club keeper Haystead.

Sheffield took the lead on 15 minutes when Davey’s cross was flicked on by Jamie Smith and Ingall smashed the ball home at the far stick.

Pete Davey then pulled up with an injury and Gav Smith cam on to replace him

The home teams striker Wilson then made an extremely dangerous tackle on Sheffield skipper Jones, but escaped with only a yellow when many expected red.

Powell went close with a drive as did Winter, storming through from midfield.

On 40 minutes Powell made it 2-0 when he latched onto a Daz Winter through ball and beat home keeper [Pettinger at the far post.

On 45 minutes Ingall got his second of the game when a Jamie Smith cross found its way to the far post and Ingall drove home to effectively seal the match in Sheffield’s favour.

The second half saw a different formation for Belper but the same story.

Around 15 minutes in Boulter brought down Wilson and when the ball ran loose there was seemingly an altercation between Tom Jones and Hannah and the referee, some 30 yards away and facing the wrong way ran in and sent Jones off.

Club reshuffled and  minutes later a through ball saw Powell clip the ball over the keeper who brought cynically brought him down. The referee proceeded to give only a yellow card, on the instructions of the linesman, who deemed that Vill Powell on a run in on goal would not have beaten Jon Hobson in a straight sprint in on goal!

On 74 minutes Sheffield Keeper Haystead had to leave the field with an injury and Ward replaced him in goal.

On 77 minutes Powell got his second of the match when he beat Pettinger in a 1 on 1.

Ward saved well from Pete Smith with 10 minutes to go, but a minute later a defensive mix up saw Town sub Richard Tracey slot home to give a final score of 4-1 to Sheffield.

Club now travel to Colwyn Bay on Thursday, where a point would move them up to third in the table.
