Match Report
Sheffield FC's talented Under 19 squad are now undefeated in 9 games in all competitions after this super display against Arnold Town at the Bright Finance Stadium. The goals came fairly late on in the match but the display of football up to then was of a very high standard, with Gelsthorpe and Lipka outstanding at the back and Gascoigne and Jones putting in a solid performance in midfield. Simpson and Jerrison were excellent in the full back positions and created a lot for the forward players. Callum Paine worked hard without reward until he was brought off through injury. The first goal came after about 75 minutes when Sheffield were awarded a free kick in a left central position on the edge of the penalty area. Joel Purkiss got permission from the referee to take it quickly and with the visiting keeper unsighted slotted the ball home to give Sheffield a deserved and long awaited lead. In the last minute Purkiss was set through on goal with a lovely ball from midfield and he finished with a great strike to put the result beyond doubt and secure Sheffield's place in division 1 next season.

Team: Smith, Simpson, Jerrison (Stratford), Gelsthorpe, Lipka, Jones, Gascoigne, Wood (Beech), Paine (Askew), Purkiss, Cribley
